Last Post

Hello everyone!

I am sad to say that this is my last post for my 3D blog. We had our final critique today in class of our website. My personal page had problems loading, however if you click the link below you can access my Body extension part of the website: http://userpages.umbc.edu/~jgreg1/bodyindex.html

Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks
Jackie

Final Project

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to tell you a little bit about our final project in my 3D class. We have to make a body extension. Something that inhibits or extends a movement/motion of your body. We were showed several examples and given time to research what we wanted to do. Below are some drawings of a few Ideas that i had for this project.

This would extend your ability to move quicker then you would on foot, and be able to sit and store your items, unlike a skateboard

This idea would inhibit your movement, while enhancing the protection of your body. I have amended this idea a lot since it was the one I chose. The box is going to be ankle height, wrapped around the ankles and possibly attached to a mask. The mask would control the movement of the box. When the mask is down you wouldn't be able to move, however when the mask was pushed up, the box sides would come up and you would be able to move your feet.

Let me know if you have any suggestions or questions on how to improve/change the idea. I'm in the process of constructing it and will be posting "in-progress" photos soon!

composition

Hey everyone!

Forgot to add the last part of the project on the last post. I decided to see how the two compositions would look if I photoshopped them together. Here is a final image below, let me know what you think!

Installation art

Hey Everyone!

Wow I didn't realize how long it had been since I had written. Sorry about that. A lot has happened since then! 1st up we had a new project: installation art. That assignment was meant to be done outside, using objects you found in the area. Mine was a little difficult to get started, so I actually did two. The first one is below:

Thats Allie the Alligator...he was very cooperative!

Same location, different composition

Again Same location, different composition

My second installation was a bit bigger and more noticeable.  I collected trash and arranged it in a tree:

The whole installation, while flash was used I only did so because it was getting too dark

Here is the image without flash, I feel like the flash at least brought attention to the background more

Just a close up of one part of the installation

I found these installations to be quite challenging, mostly in the positioning and ideas. It was interesting to try though, and it helped to clean up the area because I threw it all away when it was done!

Well thats all for this post, be back soon!
